Viscose is a journal for fashion criticism. Launched between Copenhagen and New York in 2021, the irregular periodical publishes critical writing and research projects by a wide range of authors from the worlds of art, fashion, literature, and academia. Through specially edited thematic issues conceived in partnerships with institutions and museums, Viscose gives space to projects that challenge and expand the possibilities of research, practice, and critique of fashion.

Founding Editor-in-Chief: Jeppe Ugelvig
Creative Director: Filip Samuel Berg
Art Director: Laura Silke
Associate Editor: Thomas Patier
Editorial Assistants: Marley Wendt,

Issue 03

Asias

This special third issue of Viscose Journal sets out to deconstruct the notion of “Asias” through fashion. With an emphasis on the term’s plural possibilities, the issue seeks out stories deep within fashion’s global supply chain.

Issue 02

Clothes

Issue 2 inverts issue 1’s focus on the immaterial notion of style to instead explore the most material of fashion’s building blocks: clothes. Clothes are literally everywhere and cite complicated systems of production, distribution, and exchange on their paths around the world.
